Darlene Yanakos is a community advocate and organizational leader, born and raised on Pittsburgh’s North Side. Darlene is deeply committed to the neighborhoods, institutions, and sense of community that shaped her values, that she and her husband Chris are now passing to their daughter, Gray.
Professionally, Darlene has worked in healthcare and business leadership for more than 15 years, focusing on organizational growth, team development, and strategic operations. She has led multi-state growth initiatives, built collaborative teams, and developed partnerships across communities. In addition to her corporate executive leadership experience, she works closely with startups and emerging organizations, helping guide growth strategies, operational development, and long-term planning.
Darlene serves on the Board of Directors for the Young Presidents’ Organization, Pittsburgh Chapter, an international leadership organization focused on peer learning and leadership development among executives and entrepreneurs. She also serves for Emerge Pennsylvania, training and supporting Democratic women running for public office and helping them become effective leaders in their communities.
Darlene values practical leadership, thoughtful collaboration, and organizations that make people feel welcomed and heard. She is grateful for the opportunity to continue serving her community as a part of the Allegheny County Democratic Committee.
